Bhanwari Devi case: Main accused surrenders

Jodhpur, Dec 23: Sahiram Bishnoi, main accused in the Bhanwari Devi abduction case has finally surrendered in a Rajasthan Court on Friday, Dec 23.

Bishnoi was long on the CBI hit list and had been missing since Sept 1, the day Bhanwari Devi went missing.

Bishnoi was paid to mastermind Bhanwari's abduction and will be in the CBI custody till Jan 2.

Bhanwari Devi, an auxiliary nurse, who also made her foray into the music world by starring in music videos, disappeared mysteriously on Sept 1 and still remains untraceable.

Mahipal Maderna, former Water Resources Minister was sacked from the government following allegations of his involvement in the case. He was arrested on Dec 3.

Rumours of an alleged sex tape of Bhanwari Devi and Mahipal Maderna surfaced which is believed to be the main reason behind her disappearance.

Meanwhile, Amarchand, Bhanwari Devi's husband also confessed to his part in the crime, that he was paid to send Bhanwari alone on a bus ride on Sept 1. He claimed that he had taken his car for repairs that day.
