Dawood joins China to separate Arunachal from Ind?
A report by the daily, DNA stated that a former aide of Dawood, 42-year-old Sumona Munlang has formed a rebel outfit - United People’s Democratic Front (UPDF). The demand of the group is to make an autonomous district council by removing nine circles in Lohit and Changlang districts of the state. Lohit is a place which has been used as a bastion of the Ulfa and a sensitive area bordering China and Myanmar.
Group members of the former sharpshooter in Dawood's gang is believed to have started using Chinese-made weapons and have become a headache for the police in the state.
DNA quoted deputy commissioner of Lohit district, RK Sharma as saying, "We have reports that he is now leading a militant outfit (in Arunachal). We have been searching for him for long."
However, Sharma said that they did not have any information about the link between Dawood and leader of the UPDF militant group, Munlang. Despite the official's statement, many have already started speculating the relation between Dawood and China citing the recent developments in the region.
