TV actress' marital life spoilt, court slams police
Quashing the case, the court pronounced, "Be sensitive in dealing with matrimonial dispute cases." The court's strong words came as the police had filed the charge-sheet in the case despite the couple's interest to settle the case out of court.
Slamming the lethargic attitude of police in following other cases, the court criticised the Mumbai police and said, "This is a matrimonial dispute. Why did the police file the charge sheet in haste when the wife made it clear that she did not want to pursue the case? The police do not show the same speed while investigating genuine criminal cases."
Chahat, who is currently working in the TV serial - Bade Achche Lagte hain, married her estranged businessman husband Bharat Narsinghani in 2006. But following the rifts between the two, the couple decided to stay apart and filed a consent terms in a family court in 2008 saying they would like to settle the dispute amicably.
