Mullaperiyar: Jayalalithaa ready to defeat Chandy & Co
Tamil Nadu and Kerala have been witnessing grievous situations which provoked people of both states resulting in violence.
Now, the AIADMK Chief claimed that the Thursday meeting will express the solidarity of all Tamilians including all political party leaders.
Showing their unity, the CM also claimed that the resolution, which will be taken in the special assembly session, would show the strength of the Tamilians.
Here it can be recalled that an all-party delegation from Kerala led by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy on Wednesday knocked the doors of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh seeking his immediate intervention in persuading Tamil Nadu to settle the Mullaperiyar Dam issue.
Asking the PM's intervention, Chandy and Co have submitted a memorandum saying, "Kerala has offered to construct a new dam at our cost which will ensure the same quantity of water for Tamil Nadu as they now receive. But government of Tamil Nadu has turned a deaf ear to this unambiguous proposal."
Now, it will be interesting to see how Tamil Nadu government led by Jayalalithaa would react to Chandy's proposal.
