During the court hearings, Jigna had established a relationship with Salem, who was prosecuted for several cases. The investigating agency is probing Vora's alleged link with underworld don Chhota Rajan.
A senior officer from Mumbai Crime Branch claimed that in an attempt to get exclusive stories, she had gone out of the way to help Salem. Interrogations reveal that she had also bought him a few shirts, which he could wear in jail.
Meanwhile, the Mumbai police seems to have failed to unearth any details on Jigna's friendship with Salem. They said that her friendship didn't refer to Dey's murder.
The Special MCOCA court will hear on Vora's application on Dec 20 as she has moved an application, seeking an in-camera trial in the case.
Jigna Vora, Deputy Bureau Chief of The Asian Age was arrested for her alleged involvement in Dey's murder. Dey was shot dead on June 11 by some unidentified assailants. Investigation revealed that Jigna gave the details of Dey's bike number and his residential address to Chhota Rajan.
