The five-day planned tour hopes to restore Congress' clout among the OBC category and Muslims in the state. The tour is touted to cause friction in the already strained relationship between Mulayam and the UPA government in the Centre.
With the upcoming UP Assembly Polls 2012 considered crucial and the decisive factor on who will rule the country, Rahul Gandhi has been vigorously camapigning for the Congress in UP. In the course of his tour, Rahul is likely to address 19 public meetings in as many Assembly constituencies of seven districts.
The Congress general secretary will start his tour from Gunnaur in Bhimnagar district and will cover areas of Badaun, Shahjahanpur, Farukkhabad, Kannauj and Auraiya districts in the next four days. The tour will culminate at Akbarpur in Kanpur (rural) district on Dec 17.
