2G scam: Essar Telecom denies allegations against them
All the five accused were charged under sections 120 B and 420 of the Indian Penal Code. The 106-page chargesheet has named five individuals and three companies.
The three companies involved in the case are Loop Telecom Pvt Ltd, Loop Mobile India Ltd and Essar Tele Holding.
The case against Ruias and Khaitans will not be heard by OP Saini, special CBI judge instead it will be heard by a metropolitan magistrate. On Dec 17, Judge Saini will take cognizance of the chargesheet as the chargesheet of 398 documents was brought before him.
Meanwhile, Essar group issued a statement which said that CBI has confirmed that Essar is not involved in the spectrum allocation scam.
