2G case: CBI may file third chargesheet today
When A Raja was the telecom minister, Essar Telecom used Loop to acquire more licenses and spectrum than what was legally allowed in 2008. Currently Raja is lodged in a jail and is being tried for charges that include criminal breach of trust.
However, India's biggest telecom companies includes Swan, Unitech Wireless and Reliance ADAG who all were arrested, got bail in the last few weeks.
The Law Ministry has said that neither Essar group nor Reliance ADAG used proxy firms to get spectrum license. But GE Vahanvati, attorney general's opinion form the basis of the CBI's case against Essar and Loop group.
