Chennai, Dec 11: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and AIADMK supremo Jayalalithaa soon will hold a special assembly session to discuss the disputed Mullaperiyar dam issue which has stirred violence between the states of Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

The CM is expected to convene the meeting on Dec 15 and sources informed that Tamil Nadu government will pass a resolution dismissing Kerala's demand of re-structuring the dam based on some "imaginary threat".

"We have no quarrel with Keralites. Destroying their properties is not a solution which lies in presenting sound technical and scientific data to the Supreme Court," said Jayalalithaa while speaking on the recent news over the attack on some Keralites on the border of two states.

Earlier, the Finance Minister of Kerala, KM Mani had said that there was no question of going back on its stand that a new dam alone was the solution for the long-drawn tangle.

"For building a new dam in its jurisdiction,Kerala does not require permission of Tamil Nadu. It does not require anybody's generosity and there is no question of backing out under pressure from anybody," Mani said referring to Jayalalithaa's signed advertisement issued to newspapers on the issue.
