Jaipur, Dec 10: Jaipur trial court on Friday directed Jaipur police to investigate the land grabbing charges against Rajasthan former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and her son Dushyant Singh.

A journalist from Sikar and a resident of Jaipur have accused Singh of illegally acquiring the ownership of three pieces of government land, which is around 22 bighas at Sahedi village in Dholpur district.

Vasundhara has been accused of misusing government office to help her son, when she was the chief minister. A complaint filed in the court claimed that she pressurised certain government officials to illegally grant the Khatedari rights to her son.

The Judicial Magistrate court has directed the city's Ashok Nagar police station to register the complaint under CrPC and to probe the charges against Raje, Dushyant Singh and the government officials on the basis of complaints filed by Srijana Shrestha of Jaipur and Babu Lal of Sikar.

The investigation is likely to be transferred to the state police's crime branch.

It was alleged that Raje used her influence to not let the concerned government authorities to appeal against the order that allowed Khatedari rights to her son Dushyant.

"All the accused have grabbed the government lands, whose total market price is nearly Rs 12 crore, by preparing forged documents," the complaint said.
