New Delhi, Dec 10: Rashtriya Lok Dal Chief Ajit Singh will meet UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi on Saturday (today) evening to finalise the seat-sharing agreement with the Congress for the forthcoming UP assembly polls.

According to media reports, Ajit Singh is likely to be sworn as Aviation Minister early next week after it appeared impossible for the ruling party to move Sharad Pawar out of Agriculture ministership, which was Ajit Singh's first preference. Reports claimed that the RLD chief's second preference, Ministry of Commerce and Industry was also rejected by the Congress.

Meanwhile, the seat sharing arrangement have already been framed where RLD would be contesting in 45 out of the 403 seats. Congress made the agreement with Ajit Singh to affirm its victory in western UP, where Ajit Singh's party has a sizeable vote bank among the Jats, Muslim and upper caste votes.
