Parl adjourned after Oppn trains guns on SM Krishna
After gunning for Union Home Minister P Chidambaram after being allegedly named in the 2G spectrum scam, the Opposition is now training its guns on Krishna. The Opposition MPs raised a ruckus as soon as the Lok Sabha started functioning on Friday morning. They demanded that Krishna step down as he was under the police scanner for his role in the scam. The scam taint occurred when Krishna was the Karnataka CM from 1999-2004.
With BJP party members shouting slogans against Krishna, other MPs from the Telangana region of Andhra Pradesh also raised voices of protest in a demand for a separate state.
The government has stated in clear terms that there is no question of Krishna's resignation.
Lok Sabha Speaker was forced to adjourn the House after the MPs refused to sit and raised a ruckus. The Rajya Sabha also witnessed similar scenes only to be later adjourned till 12. Prabhat Jha of the BJP was quoted as saying, "We demand action against Krishna. FIR has been registered against him and when Yeddyurappa can be removed on the basis of FIR why not Krishna."
Meanwhile, the landmark Lokpal Bill draft was tabled in Parliament on Friday.
