Lokpal panel adopt delaying tactics; seek one more week

Anna Hazare
New Delhi, Dec 5: The Standing Committee on Lokpal Bill has asked for a week more to submit its report in Parliament. The report was to be submitted by the Standing Committee in Parliament by Dec 7.

The step comes at a time when Team Anna has threatened to stir up its attack on the government for passing civil society's Lokpal Bill.

Anna Hazare has threatened of a fresh protest after there were reports of the lower bureaucracy and judiciary's exclusion under its ambit.

Expressing his anger on the government, Anna Hazare said that he felt cheated by the government and warned the government to be ready to face another agitation.

Anna Hazare is scheduled to sit on a day-long fast on Dec 11 and has also invited politicians to join him in his agitation, so that they could put forward their views on the Lokpal Bill.

“11 December, Jantar Mantar debate with no adjournments on Lokpal. Come, listen, ask questions and clarify doubts. Political representatives are invited to speak," read activist Kiran Bedi's tweet on Twitter.
