Tamil Nadu: Woman raped at knifepoint
The victim was walking home at 11 pm on Wednesday, Nov 30 when the incident took place.
28-year-old Sugumaran, the accused, a worker in a brick kiln in nearby village was on a two-wheeler. He stopped and threatened the victim at knife-point and dragged her to a burial ground and raped her.
He later fled the scene on his two-wheeler. The woman then rushed home and narrated the incident to her parents, who then lodged a complaint.
"We nabbed the accused based on vehicle registration number given by the woman. He has confessed to the crime," said a police officer.
