Will new audio clip nail Bhanwari killers? CBI moves court
After the video clips showing explicit scenes from the relationship between Maderna and Bhanwari, a new audio clip has emerged related to the case. The CBI has moved a special court to verify its authenticity in order to match the voices in the tape with that of accused Shahabuddin and Sohan Lal Bishnoi who are under judicial custody at the moment. An application was filed in the additional chief judicial magisterial court in this regard.
The court is expected to make a decision on the same today (Friday).
Considering the tumultuous nature of the case, four audio clips had surfaced considered to contain conversations between Bhanwari and Indra Bishnoi and Sohan Lal Bishnoi. Another clip was understood to have conversations with Shahabuddin and his girlfriend Rehana. The CBI is trying to find out the authenticity of these voices, especially that of Shahabuddin and Sohan Lal Bishnoi.
The CBI's counsel, SS Yadav has been quoted as saying, "In order to clear this doubt, the CBI moved an application in the CBI court seeking permission to record their voices in the jail and match them up with those in audio clips."
The counsels of the accused, Shahabuddin and Sohan Lal Bishnoi expressed their protest on the request citing violation of the Constitution and denial of the right to silence. They argued that the case was currently under investigation and is unwarranted before the chargesheet is produced in court.
