Cops all praise for Anna during crackdown, while slap Ramdev
"Those who preach democracy must comply with the rule of the law. One leader went to jail and 20, 000 people followed him and gathered outside the jail. He did not disturb public order," Harish Salve, senior counsel told the Supreme Court drawing comparison between the way both the activists carried out their protest against corruption.
Furthering advocating Anna's way of protest, he said that it was a right way to protest but there were also certain obligations on the way leaders lead a protest.
Talking about Baba Ramdev's way of protesting over the issue of black money, he said, "If you are leading three or five people, you can tell the police that you will violate the law and face arrest. But here the situation was different??There have been situations where leaders have lost control over the crowds."
Baba Ramdev was forcibly evicted from Ramlila grounds on Jun 6 after the police entered the venue and started lathi-charging people.
