Bhanwari case: Hair strands found in Bolero sent for test

Bhanwari Devi
Jodhpur, Nov 29: Months after auxiliary nurse Bhanwari Devi disappeared, a team of forensic experts from Delhi have found strands of hair that are believed to be Bhanwari's.

The team of experts believe that the strands of hair could have been broken following a scuffle between Bhanwari and her kidnappers at the time of her abduction and her being forced into the Bolero.

The strands of hair were recovered after the gear box and hand brakes were removed. Chemical tests were also performed as traces of blood were also found there.

The hair strands and the blood remains have been taken by the investigating team to Delhi to confirm the DNA test.

The vehicle was left with a mechanic in Kanedar, Gujarat on Sept 9 by Shahabuddin, the owner of the vehicle and the main accused in the kidnapping of Bhanwari Devi.

The CBI team also investigated the residence of Roshan Bano located in Aburoad, where Shahabuddin was suspected to be hiding two days after Bhanwari Devi was killed.

Later Idgah Road based goldsmith was also probed before both were taken to Aburoad Police Station.

Reports reveal that Shahabuddin left Roshan's residence and dumped his Bolero in Kanodar and left for Mount Abu and later travelled to Jodhpur,

Bhanwari Devi had gone missing from Bilara area, Jodhpur on Sept 1. Mahipal Maderna was later sacked by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot from the state cabinet on Oct 16 over his alleged involvement in the case.

Bhanwari Devi was allegedly using a sex CD to blackmail Maderna that showed them in a compromising position.

Shahbuddin, during the interrogation had revealed that the nurse is dead.
