2G: No more tears for Kanimozhi; gets bail after 6 months
Apart from Kanimozhi, Kusegaon Directors Asif Balwa and Rajeev Agarwal, Cineyug founder Karim Morani, and Kalaignar TV's MD Sharath Kumar have also been granted bail on sureties of Rs 1 lakh each and on condition not to leave the country without prior permission.
Kanimozhi has also been asked to submit her passport.
"If the order reaches Patiala House by 5 PM, they will be out of Tihar Jail tonight itself," said Siddharth Behura's lawyer.
Reports reveal that the CBI did not oppose to the bail applications of Kanimozhi and Cineyug founder Karim Morani in the trial court.
However, Former Telecom Secretary, Siddharth Behura was not granted bail in the case.
The court earlier on Friday, Nov 25 had adjourned the bail pleas of the accused in the 2G case till Nov 28, Monday.
Sanjay Chandra of Unitech Wireless, Vinod Goenka of Swan Telecom and Reliance Group's Gautam Doshi, Surendra Pipara and Hari Nair were earlier granted bail by the apex court in the 2G case on Nov 23.
Kanimozhi, who was arrested on 20 May, 2008, was accused of allegedly accepting Rs 200 crore bribe for Kalaignar TV - where she owns a share of 20 percent.
