Sex & Rajasthan politics: CBI fixed over Bhanwari Devi case
The CBI, which earlier grilled the main accused - sacked Congress Minister Mahipal Maderna and another Congress MLA Malkhan Singh, is yet to reach any concluding lead in the alleged kidnap and murder case.
After submitting its first status report on Nov 11, the Rajasthan High Court had asked the investigative agency to intensify its probe into the Bhanwari Devi case. The agency's credibility was at stake over its failure in finding a lead in the case.
Maderna, who accepted his illicit relationship with Bhanwari Devi, refused to have any link with her missing. Meanwhile, the CBI has been struggling to find out the truth whether Bhanwari had tried to blackmail Maderna and others with the sex CD and videos or not.
A local TV channel in Rajasthan recently broadcasted a video which allegedly showed missing Bhanwari Devi and Maderna in a compromising position. Sources said that Malkhan Singh was also seen in the sex CD.
CBI pointed finger at one among the main accused in the case - Malkhan Singh who was also allegedly seen in a compromising position along with Maderna and Bhanwari. The 38-year-old nurse has been missing since three months and according to sources, she was kidnapped and murdered as she was blackmailing Maderna threatening the former minister of exposing the sex CD. However, the dead body of Bhanwari Devi has not yet been found.
