Encounter: Mamata's men kill top Maoist leader Kishenji?

Kolkata, Nov 24: Top Maoist leader - Koteshwar Rao alias Kishenji has been killed in an encounter by joint forces in Purulia, West Bengal, said TV reports on Thursday, Nov 24.

However, MHA has not yet confirmed the news officially. It has been reported that Kishenji along with 5-6 other Maoists has been killed during the 30-minute gun battle in Purulia district of West Bengal.

The joint armed forces arrested five other Maoists during the operation and also recovered a large number of arms and ammunition in Jungle Mahal in Jhargram, West Midnapore.

However, search for another top leader, Suchitra Mahato is still on as the sources from security forces informed on Thursday evening. The search operation was launched on Wednesday following an intelligence report that Kishenji and others were hiding at the region.
