Short Circuit and fault in AC behind Doon Express fire?
According to a senior railway ministry official, a forensic examination will reveal the exact cause of fire. Meanwhile, railways have already ordered dual probes, one by the commissioner of railway safety of eastern zone and other one by the state forensic experts from Ranchi to find out the real cause behind the fire tragedy.
Railways officials also said that most commonest causes of such devastating fire were faulty AC plants or short circuit in electric system. Moreover, officials did not rule out the presence of highly inflammable substances inside the bogies which propelled the fire to spread quickly.
Eight train tragedies so far this year have put the safety of Indian Railways in question. In UPA-II after Trinamool Congress took the charge of Railways, there have been at least 14 major train accidents.
