Jammu, Nov 23: A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been filed in Jammu wing of state High Court seeking action against noted civil rights activist Arundhati Roy over her remarks on Kashmir as “most bloody occupations in the world" in a recently held seminar at New York.

The PIL was filed by Vijay Kumar Kashkari, Ajay Kumar Bhat and Vir Ji Saraf, who belong to an organisation of Kashmir Pandits based in Jammu and Delhi.

Earlier on Nov 12, while attending a seminar on 'Kashmir: The Case for Freedom' at Asia Society in New York, Arundhati Roy had remarked that Kashmir has been one of the most bloody occupations in the world .

"Kashmir is one of the most protracted and bloody occupations in the world and one of most ignored. While India brutalises Kashmir in so many ways, that occupation brutalises the Indians," she had stated.

And added, "I think that the people of Kashmir have the right to self-determination. They have the right to choose who they want to be, and how they want to be." The copy of the report has also been attached with the PIL.
