New Delhi, Nov 21: The Supreme Court on Monday, Nov 21 bashed Delhi police over their crackdown on Baba Ramdev and on his followers at Ramlila Maidan during the yoga-guru's fast protest over Black Money issue on Jun 4.

Asking to explain their action against the yoga-guru, the apex court asked, "Explain whether the use of force was justified? What were the circumstance which led to the action and why the police could not wait till the morning to ask the people to leave the venue?"

Meanwhile, famous advocate - Ram Jethmalani, who has been fighting for Ramdev at the court, attacked on the Union Home Minister, P Chidambaram.

Accusing Chidambaram of masterminding the police crackdown at Ramlila Maidan, Jethmalani said, "Are we living under dictatorship or a Nazi rule that Baba Ramdev shall not be allowed to carry out his protest and will not be allowed to stay in Delhi?"

Citing the strong words from the Supreme Court, Delhi police is expected to file its reply within Friday, Nov 25.
