Showing full respect to the party leaders and calling them "whistle-blowers" of the cash-for-votes scam, Advani honoured his one time close aide - Sudheendra Kulkarni and other BJP MPs - Fagan Singh Kulaste and Mahavir Singh Bhagora.
Advani's yatra which aimed at eliminating corruption and raising the issue of bringing back black money stashed abroad kicked off from Bihar on Oct 11. However, honouring the cash-for-votes scam accused sparked a controversy.
All accused of the scam, which had rocked the Parliament during trust vote ahead of the Indo-US nuclear deal in 2008, have released on Nov 17 and were asked to pay a surety bond of Rs 2 lakh each.
Clarifying his stand he said that the entire idea of the Jan Chetna Yatra was to build support for his Sudheendra Kulkarni his aide and other BJP MPs who were jailed and recently bailed in the cash-for-votes scam.
