Washington, Nov 19: The man charged with attempting to assassinate American President Barack Obama, 21-year-old Oscar Ramiro Ortega-Hernandez is calling himself a “a modern day Jesus". The New York Daily News reported that Oscar had made a 20 minute video that showed him making a pitch to Oprah Winfrey to cast him on her show.

In the video, he stated, "You see, Oprah, there is still so much more that God needs for me to express to the world. It"s not just a coincidence that I look like Jesus. I am the modern day Jesus Christ that you all have been waiting for."

Oscar was accused of opening fire near the White House with the US Secret Service finding rounds of ammunition near the high-secure White House. One stray bullet fired by Oscar had also hit one of the windows. Any sort of damages were avoided since the windows were made of ballistic glass. After investigations, Oscar was arrested in Pennsylvania and was charged with attempt to assassinate the US President.

The video that was obtained by Idaho TV station KBOI shows Oscar reading from a note pad where he mentions his stint as a gangbanger and shows him pushing for the legalisation of marijuana. He also questions why people spend time drinking and partying in the footage.

He ponders in the footage, "Please do not take me as a joke or as a deception. I have never felt so sure that I was sent here by God to lead the world to Zion."

The newspaper report stated that the video was shot by a student at Idaho State University named Ramon Bailey in September. Bailey said that he shot the video after Oscar requested to help him shoot a commercial.
