UP: FIR against 30 cops in Bhattta-Parsaul gang-rape case
Chief Judicial Magistrate, Vipin Sharma ordered the registration of FIRs under section 376 (rape) and 392 (robbery) and directed the district police to submit a chargesheet to the court after investigating the case as soon as possible.
"Four-five personnel had entered the house of the victim on May 7 while she was alone and gangraped her on the orders given by their seniors, who were these police officers deployed on duty in the area. After gangraping the woman, they had looted Rs.1 lakh from her house," Sharma said.
"The victim, on the next day, approached the Dankaur police station with her complaint but she was turned away. Her FIR was not registered and she was sent back. She then turned up to several senior police officers but no one listened to her," he said before adding, "She then submitted an application before the court demanding FIR against the culprits for raping and looting her. The court heard the arguments and ordered lodging of case against all these men Friday."
Earlier, on Oct 24, the district police had registered a case of rape against 16 security personnel in the Bhatta-Parsaul case after the charge was handed over to Crime Investigation Department (CID) of Uttar Pradesh police.
