Ex-Lover arrested over fake Facebook profile

Ahmedabad, Nov 19: A 19-year-old youth was arrested for creating a fake Facebook profile account of his ex-girlfriend.

Sneha, (name changed), a Gandhidham-based computer sciences student found that her profile was already there in the social networking site with her hometown, education and college. The profile also contained her pictures.

The city crime branch solved the mystery and arrested Ashish Ojha, Sneha's former classmate. Investigators said that the guy wanted to know about her friends.

Following Sneha's brother's complaint to the crime branch team, a team of inspector Kiran Patel and sub-inspector BP Rozia started investigation into the fake account case.

"We used digital tools and methods to track the maker of the profile and found the IP address of the computer used for this purpose. Upon investigation, it led us to Ashish Ojha, a resident of Gandhidham. He confessed that he was earlier in relationship with the girl but when they fell out, he decided to get even and created her profile with the information available. The girl did not have and does not have her own social networking site profile," said Kiran Patel.
