Similarities b/w Deve Gowda & Lalu, nap @ anytime, anywhere
While Gowda reportedly was dozing off during a meet with top Indian industry leaders over the deteriorating economical issue of the country, Lalu was caught napping during the Parliament's monsoon session, 2011.
DLF Chairman, KP Singh in a book recollected his memories when the then Prime Minister was napping during the crucial meet. Singh, while describing the incident, stated, "I recall accompanying industrialist LM Thapar as part of a delegation of businessmen to meet Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda. We had requested the meeting to apprise him of the deteriorating state of the Indian economy with suggestions on what needed to be done."
"In the Prime Minister's office, Thapar started his presentation, but we got the distinct impression that Deve Gowda was not listening. We had all heard of his habit of dozing of during discussions. Suddenly he sat up and exclaimed, 'I am glad that the economy is doing well'," wrote an amused Singh.
Here it can be recalled that after failing to wake him (Lalu) up, speaker Meira Kumar urged Lalu's party colleague, Umashankar Singh for awakening the former Bihar CM from his nap.
Citing the request from the speaker, "Umashankarji, please wake him up", Lalu's aide reportedly tapped him (Lalu) on his shoulder pointing that the Speaker had noticed him (the RJD supremo).
