WB: 14 undertrials on hunger strike fall sick
Police said three of them were admitted to M R Bangur Hospital and 11 others were being treated in the hospital of the correctional home.
Nearly 200 undertrial prisoners went on a hunger-strike on Thursday claiming that they have been languishing behind bars for years due to delay in redressal of their cases. The undertrials petitioned the correctional home superintendent that their cases were pending in courts for six to seven years without redressal or bail, officials said.
