Bhatinda: After bomb, Akali Dal disrupts Advani's Yatra

Bhatinda/Punjab, Nov 13: After a bomb was found near Chennai in Tamil Nadu, LK Advani's Jan Chetna Yatra once again has been disrupted when workers of Hindu organisation, Akali Dal showed protest in Bhatinda, Punjab on Sunday, Nov 13.

The protest and violence by the Akali Dal workers raised question about the security arrangement by Punjab police as they had claimed of 100 percent safety to the senior BJP leader.

The Hindu organisation earlier had threatened Advani before entering Bhatinda of disrupting his (Advani's) yatra against increasing corruption in the nation.

Advani entered Punjab on Sunday morning. It was reported that 600 policemen were deployed at various points in Bathinda where Advani was scheduled to have visited. At least 100 policemen were deployed to walk along with the route while 20 gazzeted officers were about to keep an overall vigil to foil any disruptive activity.
