Rajnath Singh dares UPA on UP's split up

Rajnath Singh
Lucknow, Nov 11: Former BJP chief Rajnath Singh has dared the UPA government to set up the second States Reorganisation Commission (SRC), if it supports the creation of smaller states.

Singh made the comment during BJP's Jan Swabhiman Yatra in Basti on the speculation that Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati could bring up the issue of carving the four states from Uttar Pradesh before the upcoming assembly elections.

He crticized Mayawati's government and stated that she was trying to divert public attention from the corrupt acts of her government.

"Both the Congress and BSP are actually against the division. But they are hoodwinking the masses, with Mayawati shooting off letters to the PM to split UP and the Union government asking her to get a formal resolution passed by the assembly," said Rajnath Singh.

"Otherwise, it is not only about UP. The longstanding demands for the creation of Telangana, Gorkhaland and Vidarbha must be considered. The Centre must set up a second SRC without wasting time," Singh added.
