DGCA sends showcause notice to Kingfisher airlines
DGCA issued the showcause notice to Kingfisher under rule 140 A of the aircraft rules for not taking prior approval before cancellation of flights.
Reacting to the issue, Kingfisher Airlines said they had to cancel flights as they were trying to reconfigure their aircrafts. Passengers had complained that they were not informed about the cancellations.
Moreover, DGCA has asked about the steps taken by the airlines so far in terms of returning passengers' airfares and providing them alternate modes of transportation to their destinations.
According to sources, Kingfisher airlines is currently running in loss with a debt of over Rs 7057 crore.
