Bangalore, Nov 9: Initial reports claimed that Reddy's right hand Sriramulu was expelled from BJP but later facts seem something different. Sriramulu resigned from the party after simultaneously snubbed by BJP.

Before filing his nomination as the independent MLA for the upcoming Bellary rural assembly election. According to sources, Sriramulu, in his resignation to BJP President, Nitin Gadkari and state unit party president, KS Eshwarappa, reiterated how he along with the Reddy brothers had struggled to get a strong hold if Bellary after successfully diminishing Congress power from the region.

K'taka BJP expels Reddys' aide 'Independent' Sriramulu:

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which came into power for the first time in Karnataka with BS Yeddyurappa, has been facing enormous shocks since the illegal mining scams hit the state. In a recent development, the party expelled Sriramulu, one of the close aides of former state cabinet minister, Janardhan Reddy who has currently been lodged in jail over illegal mining scam.

Sriramulu had filed nomination for Bellary Rural Assembly constituency which will be held on Nov 30. K S Eswarappa, state unit party president expelled Sriramulu when he rejected BJP's offer to field him (Sriramulu) on the party's Lotus symbol.

However, the rebel MLA claimed that he did not betray the party as he stated, "I have not betrayed the party. I had worked for the party and gave strength to it. But the party sidelined me, forcing me to seek re-election as an independent candidate."

Sriramulu, along with the MP from Bellary, J Shanta, Raichur MP, Sanna Fakirappa, Somashekara Reddy and HT Suresh Babu (both MLAs), filed the nomination paper seeking re-election as an independent candidate.
