Jaipur: 17-year-old girl killed by father and brother

Jaipur, Nov 8: A 17-year-old girl was killed by her father and brother in Singhwali village, Jaipur. The father along with the son has been accused of strangulating the girl to death.

Sunhari Kumari, the victim was killed for having a relationship with a boy. After killing the girl, they dumped the dead body in the school toilet. Then they registered a FIR against the girl's boyfriend claiming that he had killed his daughter.

"The body of the girl, Sunhari Kumari, was recovered from the toilet of the government secondary school by its sanitary staff on October 11," said Rahul Prakash, SP, Dholpur.

According to the FIR, the police interrogated the youth "but during interrogation, it came up that allegations against him were bogus. Then we put the girl's father Jagmohan and his son Mukesh under scanner," said the officer.

He further said, "It is a case of honour killing as the girl wanted to marry Than Singh who lives in the neighbourhood. The father told her to stay away from the youth, but she did not follow his instructions. Irked over this, he murdered the girl."

The officer added that they then detained Jagmohan and quizzed him. During interrogation, he confessed to strangulating the girl with the help of his son. Both were arrested by the police later.
