Orissa: Naveen Patnaik puts his ministers property online
Patnaik is the richest one among all his ministerial colleagues and his total property worth Rs 11.99 crore. After Patnaik, AU Singh Deo inherit a property of Rs 4.8 crore. Out of 21 ministers, 13 are inheriting a property above than 1 crore. Urban Development minister Sarda Prasad Nayak inheriting the lowest assets worth Rs 12.18 lakh.
Patnaik inherited 22.7 acre farm land in Haryana, which worth Rs 34,334,000. He also inherited the one-third of his parents property worth Rs 5.14 crore at Aurangzeb Road in New Delhi.
However, many ministers failed to sign the declaration for the property list which was posted online.
“As one more step towards transparency, the assets and liabilities of the council of ministers of Orissa have been hosted in the state government website," said a senior official.
The property list was posted before the municipality polls, by-election and panchayat polls scheduled early next year. Sources claimed that the ministers had submitted their property lists in Aug.
“It is meaningless to limit the disclosures to 2010-11 only, since there is no way to compare the increase in assets unless we have the previous year figures," said Biswajit Mohanty, a board member of Transparency International India.
