Over 100 arrested after police bust sex racket

Mumbai, Nov 3: The Social Service Branch, Mumbai Police busted a sex racket in Mumbai, Maharashtra.

At least 120 girls, including women were rescued while 30 were detained by the police, said Assistant Police Commisioner Anand Jadhav. He also said that at least 120 girls were taken into custody and 14 women were found guilty of running the flesh trade racket.

The sex racket was being run in Mumbai's Grand Trunk Road area and the police arrested over 100 people over flesh trade charges.

"At around 2:30 am yesterday night, the S.S. Branch and D.B. Marg police station conducted a joint operation. The operation was conducted in Krishna building of Pawala lane. In total 30 people have been made accused in the case and 120 girls were rescued," said Jadhav.

Police also said that they were trying to help the rescued girls reunite with their families while helping others to earn a livelihood if they wished to stay back in Mumbai.
