2G: Chidambaram, not Raja was main culprit? BJP hurls attack
Joshi on Thursday, Nov 3 accused Chidambaram and not former Telecom Minister, A Raja of allowing the entire 2G spectrum scam to happen.
During a press conference, Joshi stated, "Chidambaram did not stick to his guns and allowed this (2G scam) to happen and the Congress is now blaming the PAC for the inquiry."
Joshi also claimed that the then Finance Minister (Chidambaram) could have stopped the spectrum allocation in 2008.
The BJP leader did not even spare Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and chided, "The Prime Minister owes an explanation on how it happened under his vigilance."
Here it can be recalled that following an RTI notice, it was unearthed that finance minister Pranab Mukherjee also had mentioned (in a letter to the PM) that Chidambaram did not properly handle the 2G spectrum issue in 2008.
The sensational report created ruckus within the UPA government. However, the two ministers of the UPA government seemed to have reached to a consent later.
