Pro-Telangana protest turns into anti-Andhra Pradesh mission
To mar the celebration of the 56th formation day of the state, Osmania University students along with Telangana Joint Action Committee (JAC) observed "betrayal day" in the district.
The celebration over the formation day turned into an ugly affair when most of the leaders of the region kept themselves away from all functions and black flag was hoisted to fete the "betrayal day."
Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) legislator, Vinay Bhaskar along with his supporters disrupted a function attended by the district collector in Warangal town on Tuesday.
The pro-Telangana agitators seem to have not been consoled by the assurance of the Union Home Minister, P Chidambaram who on Monday said that the centre will take decision over the Telangana issue only after the Eid-ul-Zuha festival.
He also said that Ghulam Nabi Azad, Congress in-charge of Andhra Pradesh had conveyed the message to different groups that no movement was possible during the festive season.
Eid is expected to be on Nov 7. The step comes after three Congress leaders quit the party and joined the Telangana Rashtriya Samithi (TRS).
