Beaten in jail, ex-CM files complaint
Ranchi, Nov 1: Former Chief Minister of Jharkhand Madhu Koda who was beaten up in jail on Oct 31 has filed complaint against the jail authorities.

The complaint letter was handed over to the Sardar police station by Koda's wife, Gita who is also a MLA.

According to a official, Koda has not mentioned the name of any individual in his complaint.

"We will consult with our higher officials on the matter before converting the complaint into FIR," said the official on being asked if an FIR was filed.

Koda's hand was fractured in the incident after he was allegedly beaten up by the jail inmates. He is currently lodged in the jail for his alleged involvement in a multi crore scam.

"Koda was beaten up by a couple of prisoners of upper division ward who insisted that he take meal with other inmates," said KK Soan, Ranchi Deputy Commissioner.

"He was admitted to Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences with injury in his hand," he said.

"We were sitting on a dharna peacefully demanding quality food when jail guards attacked us with lathis," said Koda adding that he was beaten up by the jail authorities.

"They were beating me as if they wanted to eliminate me. It's a political conspiracy and I demand a judicial probe into the whole incident," said Koda.
