BS Yeddyurappa
Bangalore, Oct 28: It seems that there is no respite for BS Yeddyurappa as the Karnataka High Court on Friday, Oct 28 once again adjourned the bail plea of the former Karnataka Chief Minister till Monday, Oct 31.

He is currently in Parappana Agrahara jail in Bangalore after the Lokayukta court extended his judicial custody till Nov 3.

Yeddyurappa was arrested on Oct 15 after he was found guilty of irregularities in the land denotification of government land. A fresh case had cropped up on Thursday where it was alleged that BSY had accepted a bribe of Rs 13 crore for awarding contracts to a private firm in the Upper Bhadra irrigation project.

The other high profile inmate in jail along with BSY, and his former cabinet colleague Katta Subramanya Naidu will also seek bail in High Court regarding the Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board scam.

Yeddyurappa had earlier withdrawn his interim bail plea and had to spent Diwali in jail. His lawyers had gone ahead to pursue a regular bail for their client. The former CM had to step down from his post after being named in the Lokayukta report on illegal mining. The state government is yet to decide on the action to be taken on the Lokayukta report.

It is believed that Yeddyurappa has been charged with a total of five cases in the Lokayukta court.
