Bangalore, Oct 24: A man has been arrested by the JP Nagar police for allegedly sending obscene messages to a newlywed homemaker on Oct 23.

The newlywed woman, Sonia (name changed) received lewd messages from a stranger who claimed to be a doctor. The messages that came on Sonia's cell made her husband suspicious as they had tied the knot just six months ago.

The victim who filed a case with the JP Nagar police laid a trap for the accused by using a software that changed a man's voice into woman's and lured the man to meet her at a isolated place.

The accused who identified himself as R Vinod from Anekal went to meet Sonia at the scheduled place only to be picked up by cops.

Reports reveal that the man who claimed to be the son of a marriage broker and an MBBS dropout admitted to harassing the victim.

According to the police, Vinod used to go to mobile phone shops and get SIM cards on his sets on the pretext that his card had problem.

"Vinod cleverly copied many women's numbers from these SIM cards into his phone, then called them claiming he was a doctor looking for a friend," said the cops.

"Vinod sent obscene SMSs to these women and in several instances, his calls created problems in their families," police officials added.
