58-yr-old businessman rapes driver's pregnant wife, arrested

New Delhi, Oct 24: Jagjit Singh, a Delhi based 58-year-old business man has been arrested over allegedly sexually assaulting his driver's pregnant wife.

Delhi police arrested Singh on Sunday, Oct 23. The horrible incident came into limelight when the victim lodged a police complaint on Oct 19.

The 28-year-old victim accused Singh of sedating her before taking her to a hotel in Chandigarh. According to police sources, Singh allegedly called the victim on the pretext of solving the distance between her and her husband (the driver).

When the victim went to meet Singh, reports claimed that Singh asked her to get into that car and offered her a cold drink. The victim became unconscious after having the drink.

"He asked her to sit inside the car. He then offered her a cold drink which was laced with a sedative. As soon as the victim became unconscious, Singh started to drive to Chandigarh where he sexually assaulted her," said police official.

Singh, who runs a transport business in Mongolpuri, dropped the victim at the same spot from where he had picked her.

Meanwhile, Singh also reportedly broke down before police interrogation and informed that he wanted to take advantage of the strain relationship between the woman and her husband.
