Cash-for-votes: Will 'sick' Amar Singh be granted bail?
The trial court had also summoned another senior SP leader, Reoti Raman Singh who has also moved the Delhi High Court in this regard. This move will slam the clean chit given to the duo in the case by the Delhi Police. The Delhi High Court had earlier reserved its order on Amar Singh's bail plea.
Lawyers representing Amar Singh had cited that the leader's health condition was extremely fragile and that it required constant monitoring. They also added that he might have to visit Singapore for medical consultations since he had undergone his kidney transplant there. He is presently suffering from UTI, increase serum creatinine, vitamin B12 deficiency and increased TSH.
The medical report released by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) had also backed the claims and said that Amar Singh had developed acute abdominal pain and was prone to infections following his renal transplant earlier. The Additional Solicitor General vehemently stated that the AIIMS report cannot be disputed. He added that the investigations in to the cash-for-votes scam has been completed and chargesheet has already been filed.
