"The recent episode of Yeddyurappa is an embarrassment to RSS. Whenever Yeddyurappa visited Sangh headquarters here, RSS senior functionaries advised him as he is a Swayamsevak. If he has not taken the advice seriously, it is wrong to blame RSS", said Dattatreya Hosabale, Joint General Secretary.
He further said that the a 20 day campaign would be launched by the party from Nov 1 against the proposed Communal and Targeted Violence Prevention Bill-2011, which they thought was 'anti-Hindu' and aimed at coaxing minorities.
Yeddyurappa who has strong links with the RSS often consulted with the leaders of the party on various issues, especially during the time when he faced crisis during his tenure as the chief minister.
Yeddyurappa was arrested on Oct 15 by a Special Lokayukta Court amid high drama for his alleged involvement in a illegal land denotification scam. The tainted BJP leader's judicial custody has been extended till Nov 3.
