Karunanidhi was accompanied by his wife Rajathi who was upset that her daughter has spent more that five months in Tihar Jail since her arrest in May.
Reports reveal that it was on his wife's insistence that Karunanidhi "do his best" to ensure that the UPA "facilitated" Kanimozhi's bail without any "hindrance" from the Central Bureau of Investigation he met the Congress Party Leaders.
Sources also reveal that Rajathi wants that her daughter spend the festival of lights with her son Aditya at their home.
Karunanidhi's family is now living in hope that Kanimozhi third bail plea will be considered by the special CBI judge on Oct 24.
The DMK Supremo met law minister Salman Khurshid after he flew down to New Delhi but failed to get any reassuarnce from him, revealed sources.
This is the first meeting that the DMK supremo held with Congress party after they lost in the Tamil Nadu polls in Apr to the AIADMK.
Meanwhile the CBI charged all the 17 accused in the 2G Spectrum scam on Oct 23 under the criminal breach of trust. Other charges against the accused are cheating, criminal conspiracy and taking bribe.
Court also allowed CBI's fresh plea to invoke charge of criminal breach of trust against Raja and two other public servants in the case.
Telecom companies Reliance Telecom Ltd, Swan Telecom and Unitech Wireless have been also charged with criminal conspiracy and abatement in the case.
The DMK after the verdict was out said that they will fight the case in court adding that Kanimozhi should get bail.
