The news emerged after search engine giant Google accidentally leaked a video on YouTube that gave a purview into the new changes that are to come in its email service with experienced designer Jason Cornwell sharing a presentation on the same.
The leaked video was immediately pulled out and has been marked private since then.
The new features on Gmail will include changes like updated search box, cleaner design and advanced options like high resolution themes and new interface for conversations.
"We've completely redesigned the look and feel of Gmail to make it as clean, simple, and intuitive as possible," reveals Cornwell in the video.
The features will also fit in any window automatically, have simpler cleaner look allowing users to resize chat and label areas. It will also allow email threads in Gmail including profile pictures.
Earlier, Google in its official Gmail Blog had said that the idea to bring out a focused and clutter free look was to "strip out unnecessary clutter and make Gmail as beautiful as it is powerful".
