Siddhartnagar (UP), Oct 22: Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh is at it again. After spitting venom at Anna Hazare and just about any other personalities who talk about the misgovernance in the UPA government, this time around Digvijay has trained his guns on the BSP. He has accused middlemen within the party of "siphoning off" funds provided by the Centre to Uttar Pradesh amounting to Rs 10,000 crore to erect statues. The Centre provided the money as part of the NRHM scheme.

Mounting on the attacks on the BSP, Singh said, “Rs 10 thousand crores under the NRHM have been given to the state, which has been spent on things like setting up statues. Dalals (middlemen) of BSP were siphoning off central funds and Mayawati's slogan of 'sarvjan hitai" has now turned into sarvjan dukhai BSP dalal's sukhai."

Singh further stated that the cash allotted to the state were being used to construct statues of Chief Minister Mayawati and her parents in various parts of the state. He was talking in a public meeting at Naugarh when he made these shameful allegations against Mayawati.

Touring the encephalitis-affected areas of the state, Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad said that heart and cancer patients belonging to BPL families would get free treatment as per the decision of the PM. He added that immediate steps will be taken to curb the epidemic from wreaking further damage.
