Slamming the Tibetan spiritual leader for his prayers and fast for the nine nuns who self-immolated protesting Chinese rule in Tibet, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman, Jiang Yu hurled the extreme attack on Dalai Lama on Wednesday, Oct 19.
"In the wake of the incidents, overseas Tibet independent forces and the Dalai group did not criticise the cases," said Yu while adding, "On the contrary, they beautified, played up such issues to incite more people to follow suit. As we know, such splitting activities at the cost of human lives is violence and terrorism in disguise."
Here it can be recalled that Dalai Lama joined a call for a day-long hunger fast and prayer service by the Kashag (cabinet) on Wednesday.
Since Mar 2011, nine Tibetans have self-immolated in Tibet, protesting China"s continued occupation of Tibet and demanding the return of the Dalai Lama from exile. Lobsang Phuntsok (20), Tsewang Norbu (29), Khaying (18), Choephel (19), and Tenzin Wangmo (20) have all succumbed to their injuries, while there is no information on the well being and whereabouts of Lobsang Kelsang (18), Lobsang Kunchok (19), Kelsang Wangchuk (17), and Norbu Damdul (19).
