Hazare's close aides arrive in capital

Anna Hazare
New Delhi, Oct 18: Amid reports of their meeting with Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi, Anna Hazare's close aides from his native village Ralegan Siddhi arrived in Delhi on Monday. Hazare's personal assistant Suresh Pathare, Ralegan Siddhi sarpanch Jaisingrao Mapari and Yadavbaba Vidyalaya school principal Ramdas Ugale reached the capital.

Their arrival in the capital came amid reports about their meeting with Gandhi. However, Congress MP P T Thomas, who was supposed to arrange the meeting, dismissed as "entirely false and baseless" reports about the meeting scheduled on Tuesday, clarifying that though a request was made, a meeting has not been confirmed.

Seeking to set right the 'confusion' and 'rumours', Thomas issued a press release saying though the sarpanch and the deputy sarpanch of the village had made a request to him in this regard, no meeting has been confirmed with Gandhi.
