Will Team Anna's anti-Congress call work on Hisar by-polls?
Upset with the government for failing to pass a strong Lokpal Bill, Anna Hazare had earlier said that he would request people in Hisar not to vote for Congress as they failed to keep their promise.
However, Anna in a recent interview promised to work with Congress if they passed the Lokpal Bill in the Parliament's winter session but added that he would go against the party if they failed to do so.
Congress candidate for Hisar Lok Sabha bypoll, Jai Prakash against the backdrop of recent attack on Team Anna member and Supreme Court lawyer, Prashant Bhushan warned Arvind Kejriwal of meeting the same fate as his Team mate who is campaigning against Congress in the elections.
Meanwhile, Anna Hazare has decided to go on a Maun Vrat (vow of silence) for a week citing health as the reason.
Reports reveal that Anna will hold the maun vrat only for the media and not his team members.
Reports also suggest that Anna's maun vrat was after there was a rift in the team following Anna's recent comment on Prashant Bhushan's views on the Kashmir issue. Briefing the media over Bhushan's comments, Anna had clearly distanced himself from the lawyer's remarks.
A recent news paper report also quoted Anna Hazare as saying that he did not agree with Prashant Bhushan and Arvind Kejriwal's views on economic policies. Anna had also hinted that Bhushan, a crucial member in the fight for the Lokpal Bill could be removed from Team.
